You don't need to have all powerups and terrain tiles on the grid, just open the folder and pick it out, and if it has variations, that pops up when you set the object down, saving even more space. The HUD allows more compact storage of elements, since the previous was a space-consuming grid, and this one is more like folders and subfolders. I typically hate change, so it's going to take time to get used to it, but I think they're both good moves. If any of you happen to know if it came from some super obscure game, let me know, I'd love to know what it is if it already exists.īesides the tornado guy, I wanted to talk about the new HUD and removal of shaking. Maybe they genuinely did create a new enemy for this game, but that just seems too unlikely. So do all of these 'issues' lead to justifiably creating a new enemy? I would say no, but I also don't know what else to say. Not very Mario-esque, but it's appeared in multiple Mario games, at least two of which are in SMM (SMB3 and New). But following that, why didn't they use a ( )? I know the obvious answer is that it's not iconic enough to be recognised by the general player (and also it looks weird), but it's an option. But since it's probably not a Foo, I have other questions.įirstly, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't create something like an enemy specifically for SMM, because the point is that the game uses elements from real Mario games that's a lot of the appeal. I would have argued that the Foo's fog (it's standard action) was kinda useless but they didn't want to create a new enemy for the tornado. I was going to say it's a ( ), since the SMW sprite looks like one, but I just recently saw the 3D designs which are too different. It's been seen in the SMB3 (can't find an image, sorry), ( ), and either New or 3D styles, so we have a pretty definitive appearance of what it is - especially since it's on the ( ). So everyone has noticed the little tornado thing, but no one know what it is.
